Richard Ings is a Canberra-based solo acoustic singer-songwriter performing under the registered business name Richard Ings Music. Since picking up the guitar in 2018, Richard has evolved from open mic nights to performing over 60 gigs a year — across pubs, cafes, festivals, corporate events, and community settings throughout the ACT and region.​His performances blend heartfelt originals with acoustic interpretations of well-loved songs by artists like Paul Kelly, Neil Finn, James Taylor, and Paul Simon. His songwriting is grounded in lived experience and emotional honesty, with 15 original songs written and performed at venues across Canberra.​In 2025, Richard introduced a unique live performance format for aged care audiences — combining a curated singalong setlist, large-font lyric books, and a focus on shared musical connection. This format became Music and Memories¹, which Richard Ings Music now performs regularly at venues across the ACT. Bringing joy, nostalgia, and participation to every show, Music and Memories lives by its tagline:Sing. Remember.
